Introducing Fiction 20 Down

Fiction 20 Down is a Maryland-based rock band with a catchy reggae vibe in many of their songs. I like their positive attitude to music, as well as to life in general. Above all, they sound like a band that knows how to play music, and they do it in the style of their own. Using more popular artists to describe their music, I’d say O.A.R. is pretty close, but no way the same. To me, their music also has a warm Jack Johnson-like feel to it.

The four members of Fiction 20 Down.

The band currently has 9 tracks available as free MP3 downloads with the promo code glimmer01. So just click on the link, type in the code, save the files, and enjoy the music in your favorite music player! For starters, I recommend the catchy song Wind Me Down, which is from their latest album Welcome to the Grassroots.

Four other songs are also from the same album. Two songs are from their debut album Down n’ Out + Up n’ Rising, which was released in early 2007. These two are 20something and Maudlin (Damn Fine Friends), and they are more acoustic than the tracks off their latest album. There are also two live tracks the band performed on the radio station WTMD 89.7FM.

To read a more detailed description of the band and listen to some more tracks, visit their MySpace page. If you’re living in Maryland or Pennsylvania, go check them live, since this is the kind of music that’s bound to work well live. This is a video of Fiction 20 Down performing their song Gossip & Gunplay on WTMD 89.7FM.
